Shoutbox implemented

A simple shoutbox has been implemented in the sidebar. To use it, you have to be a registered member and logged in. The shoutbox can be found in the sidebar if you go to the blog-section of the site. Unfortunately the shoutbox can only be placed in one spot, and I decided that the best spot would be in the blog-section. Hope you like it (you should, ’cause you asked for it!)

Login and registration problems

Some people are experiencing difficulties with registration and login at the site. We are aware of the problems, and are investigating the cause. Please try these links if you are having problems with either registration or login:

When you have registered your account here at portlandfan.dk, please go to your profile and update your information. At the very least, please fill in your First and Last name.

Please also consider getting yourself a free Gravatar, it will put a face to your name and help your credibility in the forums as well as when you comment on blogposts. Just use the same e-mail address for your Gravatar as you used to sign up for your account here at portlandfan.dk. If you don’t know what a Gravatar is, then please watch the video below:

We are finally back with a brand new version of The Portland Fanclub.

The previous version of the fanclub website was using an outdated cms-system that for a long time was partly broken. When the site got hijacked so that every link on the entire site was redirected to a (seemingly harmless) page on a domain out of our control, I decided it was time to do what I should have done a long time ago: Move the site to a WordPress installation.

I’m far more experienced with managing a site that runs on a WordPress installation, and in the future that should mean that the system will be far more robust and stable.

Unfortunately all of the content from the old version of the site will have to be reentered by hand, so it will probably be a while before everything is back in it’s rightful place.

The old forum was not salvageable so we are starting from scratch there too.

If you were a member of the fanclub before (or a newcomer who just want to become a member) you will have to sign up for an account all over. Membership is (of course) free of charge, but you will have to be a member to be able to take full advantage of the features like downloads, commenting on blogposts, participating in the forums and so on.
